Where it all began...
I’d slide those dusty books filled with old images lined in cellophane off the bookshelf in my parent’s living room and jump into my Papa’s favorite chair. We’d sit there and reminisce, laugh, and bring those photos to life through the memories we had made.
When life was easy or difficult, one thing was always constant - my love of passing the time through those pages of birthdays, Disney vacations, and everyday moments.
When my Mama was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease - those days where life was easy became even harder to come by. As her health deteriorated we found ourselves clinging onto those photos to remember the good times we all had with her. This is when I truly saw just how important photos are.
Parkinson’s is debilitating. It’s a terrible disease that sucks your mobility, independence, and speech away from you - slowly and then all at once. After she passed, I realized once again how precious those good days were and how I craved more tangible pieces of them I could still hold on to.
If I learned to dream big from anyone - it was my Mama. In a way, her illness made me appreciate good days more, and want to help others preserve more of those special moments between them and their loved ones. For when someone leaves this earth, photos have a powerful way of reminding us of those good days with them.
When I started this little photography business, it was only natural for me to take a piece of that little girl that Mama and Papa called ‘Feedle Dee’ who was always found flipping through photo albums, and merge her with the woman that appreciated capturing those moments just as much.
As a little girl, I grew up flipping through my family’s old photo albums.
My parents raised me with a love for adventure, and as my husband and I enjoy new adventures together I take a piece of that history everywhere I go; because today’s special moments are tomorrow’s memories - and those family birthdays, wedding days, graduation days, and all those special moments in between are too important to not be captured.
Thanks for the adventure, now go have a new one
